Mega Altaria's unique Dragon/Fairy dual typing gives it four clear weaknesses to pile into:

Poison, Ice, Steel, and Fairy-type moves are all super effective any of these will do solid damage.

The key thing to remember is that Dragon-type moves are completely neutralised by Mega Altaria's Fairy typing. Don't bring Dragonite, Salamence, or Rayquaza here they'll do nothing! Bug, Dark, Electric, Fighting, Fire, Grass, and Water moves are also resisted, so stick strictly to the four super effective types. 🚫

Mega Altaria isn't the flashiest Mega attacker in raids but it has a genuinely unique role that makes it worth having in your roster.

It's the only Dragon-type in the game that resists Dragon-type moves, thanks to its Fairy typing. That means it stays on the field far longer than Mega Rayquaza or Mega Garchomp when battling Dragon-type raid bosses, providing its Mega boost to Dragon and Fairy-type teammates for much longer than any other Mega Dragon can. In large raid groups, that extended boost window translates into noticeably faster wins.

For PvP, Altaria has been a Great League staple for years. Dragon Breath is one of the best Fast Moves in PvP and Altaria is arguably its greatest user solid, reliable, and a genuine threat in the right team.
