🌙 Weaknesses — What Wrecks Her

Shadow Cresselia is a pure PsychicPsychic-type, which makes her weak to BugBug, DarkDark, and GhostGhost-type moves. All three work equally well pick whichever you have the strongest team for.

Avoid FightingFighting and PsychicPsychic-type moves entirely Cresselia resists both and you'll just be tickling her. 🪶

💎 Purified Gems — Don't Skip These!

Shadow Cresselia goes enraged mid-raid, dramatically boosting her Attack and Defense. You'll need Purified Gems to subdue her without them, you won't be able to ReturnNormal her to her NormalNormal, non-enraged state, making the raid significantly harder.

Stock up on Gems beforehand by defeating Rocket Grunts and Leaders to collect Shadow Shards, then refine them with Professor Willow. Communication is key coordinate with your team on who uses gems and when, and plan your Mega Pokémon positions in advance.

💡 Form a Party Play group at the gym before entering the Party Power bonus gives a big coordinated damage burst when everyone fires Charge Attacks together. Since Shadow Raids are in-person only, you might as well make the most of it! 🎉

✨ Shiny Cresselia — Worth Hunting?

Shiny Shadow Cresselia is easy to spot the pink details on her head, chest, and rings turn either blue or green, while her blue-ish back changes to purple. It's a dramatic and gorgeous colour swap. 💜

The Shiny rate for Legendary Pokémon is approximately 1 in 20 excellent odds. With a month-long window, you have plenty of chances to hunt one. If you do find a Shiny, remember it's a guaranteed catch swap to Pinap Berry and enjoy the freebie! 🍬

🤔 Is Shadow Cresselia Worth It?

Honest answer Shadow Cresselia is an F-Tier PsychicPsychic-type attacker and not recommended for Raid battles. She's built for bulk, not damage output, so don't expect her to crack your raid lineup.

Where she does shine is PvP. Shadow Cresselia masquerades as a pseudo-GrassGrass type in PvP punishing WaterWater-types with Grass KnotGrass while also handling Dragons and FightingFighting-types with MoonblastFairy. The Shadow damage boost makes her a premier Great League addition, tanky enough to take hits while threatening a wide range of opponents.

Best PvP moveset: Psycho CutPsychic + Grass KnotGrass + MoonblastFairy

💡 Keep it Shadow if you're a PvP player the damage boost is genuinely useful in Great League. Casual trainer who mostly raids? Catch it for the Pokédex and the beautiful shiny. 🌙

✅ Quick Checklist

  • Bring DarkDark, GhostGhost, or BugBug-type counters nothing else
  • Stock up on Purified Gems before raiding
  • Set up Party Play with your group at the gym
  • Coordinate Purified Gem usage don't waste them before enrage!
  • Use Golden Razz Berries on the catch screen (base catch rate is very low)
  • Windy weather = boosted CP catches

Good luck out there may the moon goddess be kind to your Poké Balls 🌕
